The Autumn session starts this week with Beaver, Cub and Scout sections all starting back after the long summer break. The section leaders have all completed their programme plans, with activities and badges to achieve for all our young people.
Inside the hall we are completing an exercise to check and tidy all of the tents and other equipment, ready for the new session. We hope to upgrade the hall toilet facilities during the October holidays.
Upcoming activities include:
- 2nd September – A sponsored coastal walk from Kirkaldy to Aberdour to raise funds for Maggies.
- 16th September – A beach clean at Seafield Beach as part of our community involvement.
- 9th November – Another of our successful Party Plan nights at Torbain Church Hall.
If you have a young person who would like to join any of the sections, please contact us at an early stage. The current waiting list looks several years ahead. If you let us know early it will allow us to plan ahead, and avoid having to turn people away. Beavers and Cubs are both over-subscribed at the moment, but things can change.
We are always looking for adult participation, and this could happen in various ways. Eg. Do you have skills or specialist knowledge which you could use to teach a badge topic, say First Aid, Fire safety, knowledge of Trees and their wood, Outdoor Cooking, Approved leader’s permit in any outdoor activities.
Do you have access to any place of interest through work, to arrange a visit?
Can you help with fundraising?
Would you like to find out how to volunteer as a leader?
Would you like to join our 50/50 club and win some money?
